Dark Matter Dimensions is an original casual roguelike / roguelite battle game where you must eliminate the different monsters that appear randomly in each of the dimensions. The objective is to reach the end of this dangerous path between dimensions using the weapons that you will have as a reward for defeating your enemies.

How to play

The game is casual and easy. You just have to press the enemy to use a random weapon that has 3 power levels (normal, empowered and critical). Then you have 2 seconds to dodge the enemy's action if you think it's the best time by swiping left or right. The attack and defense of the player and the enemy are put face to face to calculate the damage. You can also upgrade your attributes and unlock new amulets for a better chance of finishing your journey by using Dark Matter at the start of each challenge.

  • Click the enemy to attack
  • Click the dodge button to dodge (Use 1 Dodge Orbe)
  • Click an object to see its explanation
  • Hold click on the amulets and drag it on a slot to equip them
  • Use Dark Matter to  improve your stats and buy amulets
  • Your game is automatically saved every turn, you can continue your journey whenever you want
  • Gray weapon background: Attributes x1
  • Yellow weapon background: Attributes x1.5
  • Red weapon background: Attributes x2

Adapt your strategy

In Dark Matter Dimensions you have 3 ways to change your strategy:

  • Amulets give you effects that you can take advantage of when traveling through dimensions
  • Each weapon has a special feature that can be enhanced with equipped stones by varying its attack and defense
  • At the end of each battle, you can heal yourself (Flashback) or you can improve your attributes with an associated punishment (Distortion)

If you love roguelike / roguelite style games with increasing difficulty and are looking for a fun casual game, Dark Matter Dimensions is a game that fits the bill.

What do we find in Dark Matter Dimensions?

So I bought the PRO version of this and talk to the Dev about a potential bug about 4 months ago but there appears to have never been an update since then. I hate to ask but is this game not receiving any further updates or support?

The amulet that makes very strong atk items cause a 20% bleed doesn't work with the guns you get from the gun amulet. (Side Note: Is there a way to get bullets back?)

I'll have to check that. Currently there is no way to recover bullets, only by replacing the weapon with a new gun.

Do you check the Google play reviews as well or only Itch.io reviews? I posted a review there but I was wondering if i should put it here.

Thanks for telling me, I already answered your comment :)

Would be neat to see Aliensrock try this out

That would be great

Can you provide an Android APK directly to itch that doesn’t require Google Play Services? I specifically use itch.io to avoid that.

I'll think about it, in general I don't like to do that because it can give a bad manipulation of the game

Really interesting roguelike game here. Honestly loaded it up and thought there was not much too it, but quickly lost three hours-ish to it. I think there might be some tuning that would benefit it, such as gaining 6 attack and then losing 6 defence on all up coming weapons, as this feels like it's backing you into a corner a little. That being said, there is enough to this game that I might just be missing something. Give it a try, great game to lose a few hours to!

Thank you!, of course there are many things that could be improved. I like to listen to the feedback from the players to find out ;)

btw some labels are "low attack", others "weak attack", they all respond to amulet "critical on weak attack". Would be clearer to unify ;)

I hadn't noticed that, thanks for mentioning it

Awesome game and gameplay, very hard though but simple, got this deck building feeling, very nice concept. I'd love to see it in a kind of dungeon crawler style rogue. Thank you !

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it

Why don't let player choose amulets? I know it's probably "fun" to make them random, but I usually just go into battle and immediately quit in order to get the amulets I'm looking for (that's choosing what I want with extra step).

It is to force the player to try new strategies. I feel that in this type of game, the player falls into always using the same strategy and the game can become monotonous
